First Friday Adorers Needed

Every First Friday, Sacred Heart of Jesus hosts Eucharist Adoration from 8:30am on Friday (after morning Mass) to 7:45am on Saturday (just before the morning Mass). Thank you to all of you who have signed up for an hour of Eucharistic Adoration! We are still looking for adorers for the 12- 1pm and 5-6pm time slots. Please call the parish office at 616-459-8362 to sign up for one of these hours or to be added to a list of permanent substitute adorers.

Parish Office Summer Hours

Monday—Thursday, 8:30am—3:00pm

Academy Office: Closed June 14—July 11.

Beginning July 12, T-Th 9:00am—1:00pm

The parish office will be closed Monday, July 5 for the holiday!

Our Academy wins prestigious Henry Salvatori Prize for Excellence in Teaching

Sacred Heart Academy has been awarded this year’s Henry Salvatori Prize for Excellence in Teaching. The prize, organized by Hillsdale College, recognizes Sacred Heart’s superb instruction in the categories of academics, virtue and citizenship. Our school will receive a $25,000 award to use for books, equipment, and other educational materials.

NEW MASS SCHEDULE TAKES EFFECT JUNE 13!

Thank you to everyone who shared their input on the proposed new Mass schedule. After prayerfully weighing the options, Fr. Sirico and Fr. Ron have decided to amend the schedule to the following:

Daily: (Monday through Friday) 7:45am (continues)

Saturday: 7:45am and 5:00pm (begins June 20)

Sunday: 7:45am, 9:30am English, 11:30 Latin (begins June 13)

This will take effect beginning Sunday, June 13th. Please talk to either Fr. Ron or Fr. Sirico if you have any questions or concerns.

Hog Wild – A Sportsman’s Dinner

Have you been feeling down since Wild Game night was cancelled? Then you won’t want to miss Sacred Heart’s Hog Wild – A Sportsman’s Dinner!  Our evening of men’s fellowship comes complete with a delicious pig roast dinner, raffle prizes and icy cold brew! Consider purchasing a private table of 8 and invite your outdoor enthusiast male friends and youth (12 and up) to come swap stories of the ones that got away and the ones that didn’t.  If you loved attending previous Men’s Wild Game Dinners, then don’t hesitate and pick up your tickets now–they will likely sell out FAST!

Hog Wild will be held in the Sacred Heart courtyard.
Saturday, July 17 from 6pm until 10pm.

Flowers for St. Joseph

For the year of St. Joseph we are honoring him with flowers in front of his statue weekly. If you would like to participate, please sign up here or call the church office at 459-8362. When you bring in flowers, feel free to replace what’s in the vase already or bring your own vase to add to the current flowers. You are responsible for your own vase. Thank you!

Feast of the Sacred Heart and Fr. Sirico’s Retirement Celebration – June 11th

On Friday, June 11th, we will be celebrating not only our patronal Feast of the Sacred Heart but the Retirement of Fr. Sirico as well. He will be celebrating the solemnity with an Extraordinary Form Mass at 5:30pm followed by Consecration to the Sacred Heart. Immediately after, everyone is invited to the tent on the corner of Valley and Dayton where we will have food and drinks and celebrate Fr. Sirico’s immense impact upon our parish and community. If you wish to assist in any way, please contact the parish office.
