Fr. Roman Fedchyk
Fr. Roman Fedchyk joins the Sacred Heart community as sexton. Fr. Roman was born in western Ukraine, where he entered the Catholic College in 8th grade at a monastery. After the Catholic college, he entered the seminary where studied for seven years and at the same time studied at a civilian university where he received a bachelor's degree in psychology and theology. Following the seminary, he was married and ordained a priest in 2012. He served in a parish in Ukraine for five years before moving with his family to the United States in 2018. In 2019 was assigned by the Bishop to serve St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Fr. Roman currently works in parallel as a chaplain at Trinity Health hospital. Since Ukrainian Rite priests often have families, they work a secular job in addition to their clerical duties as a priest. Fr. Roman is blessed to be a part of the Sacred Heart family.
