
Jonathan Bading
Jonathan Bading has been the Director of Sacred Music at Sacred Heart since January 2018, where he serves as organist and directs the Parish Choir and Men’s Schola Cantorum. Mr. Bading holds a B.Mus. in Organ Performance from Hope College, where he studied organ with Huw Lewis, conducting with Brad Richmond, and voice with Linda Dykstra. Jonathan also spent two summers transcribing and researching chant manuscripts in Vendôme, France on two grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. In 2018, he received First Prize in the Annamae Rotman Young Organist Competition and serves on the Board of the Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Jonathan, his wife Madison, and daughter Margaret, enjoy living on the west side of Grand Rapids, where they're but a stone's throw away from the parish.
