Dr. Jared Ortiz Executive Director of The Benedict Institute and Associate Professor of Religion at Hope College will give the lecture. The title of his lecture is: “Intellectual Disability & The Sabbath Structure of the Human Person”. Dr. Ortiz holds a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from the Catholic University of America. He specializes in early Christian theology, especially St. Augustine. He has scholarly interests in Liturgy, Latin patristic thought and disability. Dr. Ortiz most recent published work is “You Made Us for Yourself”: Creation in St. Augustine’s Confessions. The October Lecture is scheduled to be in the Parish Gym. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with Wine & Cheese Social. Lecture begins at 7:00 p.m. This is a lecture you won’t want to miss. All adults of every age are invited. Invite friends and family! On Thursday, June 15th, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish will be hosting our monthly Young Adults Holy Hour & Social.Meet at 7:00pm in the church for a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration where we will be singing hymns, praying the rosary, and praying the Litany of The Sacred Heart of Jesus as we look forward to our parish’s Patronal Feast the following day. There will also be time for silent prayer.After the Holy Hour, head outside to the courtyard where we’ll have an ice cream sundae bar!
