St. Vincent Neighborhood Mission

Our name reflects the core of our mission: “To serve and share the love of Christ with our neighbors.” St. Vincent de Paul said we must first address peoples’ physical needs before we can address their spiritual needs.

In the past 7 months, Sacred Heart’s St. Vincent Neighborhood Mission has helped 17 families stay in their homes, move out of cars and friends’ houses and into homes of their own. We have supported 6 families by helping them catch up on utility bills, keeping water, gas and electricity running to their homes. We have worked to meet specific needs for food, beds and employment. Our members are learning to listen to, pray for and walk with our neighbors. In 7 months, we have connected with 25 neighbors and their families.

This is only the beginning of this parish ministry and every week we receive new calls for help. To find out how you can help, email Katie Ugolini at
