Sister Miriam Joseph was raised in Butler, Pennsylvania and entered the Sister Servants of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus after high school. Sister went to Saint Aloysius College and Saint Francis College in Pennsylvania. After taking her final vows, Sister taught for about 22 years in various schools in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New Jersey teaching a variety of subjects. Sister worked at their personal care home for 2 years as a receptionist/secretary. Afterward, she continued working as a sacristin. In the spring of 2020, Sister Miriam Joseph came to Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Grand Rapids, Michigan to continue her sacristy work, assist the Religious Education Director with First Holy Communion classes and take on historical archiving for the parish. Studying Scripture and listening to religious music are some of her favorite activities.
